Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For
everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes
not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will
save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his

Godlessness in the Last Days
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather
than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. -2 Timothy 3
Paul's Charge to Timothy
You, however, know all about my teaching,
my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened
to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. In fact, everyone
who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse,
deceiving and being deceived. -2 Timothy 3:10-13
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. -1 John 2:6
The sin and doom of Godless men
3Dear friends, although I was
very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that
was once for all entrusted to the saints. 4For certain men whose condemnation was written about[a] long ago have secretly
slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ
our only Sovereign and Lord. -Jude 1:3-4
And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the
beginning, his command is that you walk in love. -2 John 1:6

This might make you think...
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he
commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.-1 John 2:3-4
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything
good. -Titus 1:16
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father

But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man
does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty
of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die.-Ezekiel 18:24
A man who strays from the path of understanding
comes to rest in the company of the dead. -Proverbs 21:16
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the
Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought
back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.-Hebrews

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled
in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not
to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was
passed on to them.-2 Peter 2:20-21
